We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join our growing team at Voyage. You will be working closely with our team of developers and producers on both internal and client projects. Your days will vary between working with our existing clients via our support desk as well as working on new bespoke projects for a range of SME's through to large Government agencies.
With a large number of Wellington based clients we're looking to expand our team in Wellington. You'll enjoy working remotely and have the flexibility to work from a co-working space should you wish.
What you’ll do
Work with our team of PMs and developers to deliver exceptional projects for clients
Consult with clients providing best practice recommendations where required
Work with our wide range of clients on support requests as well as bespoke projects
Create robust processes to minimise downtime and rework
Develop, execute and maintain automated tests
Writing and updating documentation
Design technical solutions in collaboration with other developers on time and on budget
Identify user and system requirements for new websites and applications
Happily work autonomously as well as within a team collaboration environment
Requirements
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience developing with PHP frameworks and Content Management systems
Experience with the Silverstripe framework and CMS
Experience working with search engines such as Solr & Elasticsearch
Strong experience with LAMP stack
Strong understanding of container service and orchestration with tools such as Kubernetes and Docker
Strong understanding of relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in an Agile environment
Ability to multi-task/manage working on multiple projects simultaneously, and moving fast
Bonus Points
Experience with setting up and maintaining infrastructure
Experience with developing and maintaining integration/delivery pipelines
Experience with AWS - setting up and deploying infrastructure
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue
Working knowledge of front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS and tooling such as Gulp and Webpack
Experience with other backend languages such as Ruby or Python
