Fire and Emergency New Zealand Wellington Central, Wellington Consulting & Generalist HR (Human Resources & Recruitment) Government (Government & Defence) Mo tenei turanga - about the role The Senior People Advisor reports to the Wellington based Regional People Business Partner and will be in a team of three, providing HR support to the Te Upoko Region (Lower North Island). Within this role you will create a reputation for strong performance across a range of HR disciplines and ideally have experience working in a complex business environment. As a team player, your approachability and passion to deliver results-focused service delivery is a must. No two days are the same where at any time you could be – Supporting a manager to interpret and apply an employment agreement clause Working on complex ER issues Mentoring and coaching a new leader within HR guidelines Building effective professional relationships with key stakeholders Facilitating the delivery of a people based national initiative into the region Critical to this role will be your ability to hit the ground running. Ideally, you will also be familiar with working in a highly unionised environment and comfortable working autonomously. Ko tau na i tenei turanga - What you'll bring to the role: You'll be authentic, self-motivated, highly focused and able to multi-task. You'll need to be a savvy, quick thinker with demonstrated ability to convey information and ideas articulately. Sometimes you will need to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into HR Operational tasks therefore a "can-do" attitude will ensure your success. To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will: Have well-developed interpersonal skills Proven experience in resolving complex ER matters A good knowledge of current New Zealand employment law and contemporary HR practices The ability to apply sound judgement and make pragmatic decisions in line with policies, guidelines and employment law.
