· Permanent role, Full-time (40 hours per week)
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity Starship Children's Health has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced social worker to provide comprehensive social work services for Maori who have been admitted to Starship Hospital and their whanau across the care continuum. The ultimate purpose is to improve social work care services for Maori and their whanau.
The role fits into the strategic objectives of the DHB of eliminating inequities by supporting Maori -led responses, improving service delivery and placing Maori whanau in the centre of care services. This role includes liaison with the Maori Health Directorate and fostering key relationships with Maori services within Te Toka Tumai Auckland.

· Be a qualified registered Social Worker and will have a NZ registration with SWRB
· Have a current annual practising certificate (APC)
· Experience in engaging with Maori whanau in ways that are respectful, culturally appropriate and whanau-centred 
· Experience in providing supervision is preferable
· Experience in working with children, either in a child protection or health setting
· Case management experience
· Working with Maori whanau presenting with issues in health, education, housing and financial areas. 
· Comprehensive understanding of Maori whanau worldviews
