Details of the offer

Consultant Psychiatrist - Hapai Ora Early Intervention Service.
0.5 FTE Option available ( Permanent , Part Time Role)
Hapai Ora is an exciting service providing Early Intervention for Psychosis (EI) across the ADHB catchment area. Hapai Ora has recently undergone a reinvigoration, integrating 5 smaller established EI teams into a single service for 0 - 30 year olds. We are working out of a new standalone building in a community based site in central Auckland. The team works well together with a focus on interdisciplinary care within a supportive MDT environment. We have a strong recovery focus, imparting optimism in our collaborative approach to working with people.
We are seeking a dynamic Psychiatrist to work 0.5 FTEwithin this specialised multi-disciplinary service, to join the existing SMO's working for Hapai Ora currently.
Ideally you will be a vocationally registered Psychiatrist credentialed for both adult and child and youth. However we are very interested in hearing from Psychiatrists who may only have scope for adults given the larger caseload in the 18y+ group. You must have an interest and preferably experience in early psychosis intervention. Also experience working within a child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) and or Public health service model is desired.
This role also includes an opportunity to help shape the new service delivery model and to contribute to a mobile team committed to delivering high quality clinical practice.
The service involves assertive outreach, working intensively with clients and their Whanau according to the international EI model and accordingly there is a comparatively smaller caseload.
We are a values based and inclusive organisation that is committed to deliver the best health outcomes for our total population. To do this we are working hard to develop a robust and capable workforce that reflects the population we serve. We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds with the necessary capability and who share our values to apply and would greatly value seeing more applicants from our Maori & Pacific communities. Our organisation values diversity, inclusivity and empathy, if you do too, apply now and join us to make a positive difference and to "do your life's best work at Auckland DHB".
As the ideal candidate, you will be either registered or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Please note, you will be required to provide source verification of your qualifications for your registration application.
