Every Police officer is a decision maker, from Constable to Commissioner. They all require bespoke intelligence to make context specific decisions. The function of Intelligence is to enable Police staff to make the best possible decisions, so as to enable Our Business.
Waikato District has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced person to utilise their skills in analysis in a dynamic area of Policing. Analytical experience and excellent writing skills are essential. You'll be adaptable, enthusiastic, flexible and a fast learner, who can easily come to grips with different business needs and processes. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to work across multiple business units. It would be preferable (not essential) if you bring to the position, skills including: statistical analysis (such as Annova testing in Minitab); html construction; computer software language skills (such as a proficiency in Python scripting and R), and; ArcGIS (general proficiency with mapping techniques).
As a Senior Intelligence Analyst you will produce exceptional intelligence products that provide understanding of the criminal environment and identify emerging risks and priorities. You will provide insight that informs decision-makers and supports the deployment of police resources, particularly in respect of priority and repeat victims, offenders and locations. Doctrinal change has generated a critical need for technical intelligence and deployment solutions. There is a need for statistical, mathematical, computer science, and advanced social science at the operational level. You will drive innovation through collaboration with the National Institute of Security and Crime Science, based at the University of Waikato.
