You will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Basis' groundbreaking, proprietary smart home solutions. As a senior member of the design team, you will not only get your hands dirtycontributing to the design and development process but will also be instrumental in advancing our overarching usability and aesthetic vision.Basis' design philosophy is deeply ingrained in real innovation, re-thinking the status quo and taking bets.Your seasoned design skills will have an immediate and lasting impact on our customers and the industry. It is hard work here, but it is rewarding.Some of the things that you might be involved in include:Contributing significantly to the design and development of Basis' HW products and experiences.Transforming your design concepts into various artifacts, including sketches, prototypes, CAD models, and final renderings.Engaging and collaborating with a broad and technicalcommunity togain a deep understanding of our users' needs, drivers and expectations.Collaborating with the broader design and development teams to takeindustrial design intent into engineering, marketing, and manufacturing reality.Apply a holistic, end-end human-centred design approach (ideation to delivery), advocating for the best possible user experience.Planning and carrying out research, ideation, testing and refinement to ensure our products are usable, desirable andfit for purpose.Contribute to strategic discussions, influencing design directions and roadmaps.Drive continuous experimentation and explore unconventional ideas.Some travel may be required from time to time.Please note; that applications without a portfolio will not be considered for this role.About YouWe think you'll be a fit for this role if you possess the following skills or experience:At least 6 years of professional experience in a similar roleYou possess extensive experience and an expert understanding of design principles, theories, and concepts, gained through years of relevant work experience or study.Your ideation and sketching abilities set you apart and are clearly communicated and compelling.You are adept at using 2D and 3D CADsoftwarepackages.Withproficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Onshape, Solidworks (or other CAD modelling software), Keyshot and other design tools.You exhibit creativity, curiosity, and an analytical mindset, combining out-of-the-box thinking with data-driven insights.
