The Role We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Industrial Designer to contribute meaningfully as a key member of our wider design team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Basis' groundbreaking, proprietary smart home solutions. As a senior member of the design team, you will not only get your hands dirtycontributing to the design and development process but will also be instrumental in advancing our overarching usability and aesthetic vision.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:
Contributing significantly to the design and development of Basis' HW products and experiences. Transforming your design concepts into various artifacts, including sketches, prototypes, CAD models, and final renderings. Engaging and collaborating with a broad and technicalcommunity togain a deep understanding of our users' needs, drivers and expectations. Collaborating with the broader design and development teams to takeindustrial design intent into engineering, marketing, and manufacturing reality. Apply a holistic, end-end human-centred design approach (ideation to delivery), advocating for the best possible user experience. Planning and carrying out research, ideation, testing and refinement to ensure our products are usable, desirable andfit for purpose. Contribute to strategic discussions, influencing design directions and roadmaps. Drive continuous experimentation and explore unconventional ideas.

About You We think you'll be a fit for this role if you possess the following skills or experience:
At least 6 years of professional experience in a similar role You possess extensive experience and an expert understanding of design principles, theories, and concepts, gained through years of relevant work experience or study. Your ideation and sketching abilities set you apart and are clearly communicated and compelling. You are adept at using 2D and 3D CADsoftwarepackages.Withproficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Onshape, Solidworks (or other CAD modelling software), Keyshot and other design tools. You exhibit creativity, curiosity, and an analytical mindset, combining out-of-the-box thinking with data-driven insights. A senior role requires a strategic, yet pragmatic approach Ambiguity is your ally, and you comfortably think beyond conventional boundaries. Your communication skills are clear, strong, and versatile, enabling you to articulate the benefits of effective design verbally and through execution. You are a team player, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and product managers.
You are able to understand complex trade-offs andmake confident decisions that align with the businesses priorities. While a relevant bachelor's degree or diploma is valued, your extensive experience and portfolio of work take precedence. Some nice to haves include:
