Details of the offer

Muka Tangata - People, Food and Fibre Workforce Development Council - will contribute to the creation of sustainable, globally engaged and adaptive Aotearoa in tertiary education, with a focus on agriculture, horticulture, fishing, aquaculture, equine, winemaking, silviculture and harvesting, and sports turf management. More information about the role of Workforce Development Councils can be found at  Te ahua o Te Turunga – The nature of the position   We are seeking an experienced analyst with a strong background using the Stats NZ Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI). In this role, you will be responsible for executing existing queries and formulating new ones to enhance our understanding of workforce, industry, and training dynamics.  The primary focus of this position involves generating insights from IDI analysis and ensuring seamless integration into our Shared Data Platform – an advanced analytical environment and data infrastructure. Beyond this, we are looking for an individual who can contribute to the ongoing development of our Shared Data Platform.  Our infrastructure adheres to the Microsoft Reference Framework for Azure Analytics, with initial datasets already operational in the platform.  We're looking for someone who can work alongside our teams of analysts from across the six Workforce Development Councils to help us continue expanding this platform's capabilities and use as an awesome data resource across the sector.  This role is part of a team that has been set up to drive forward the development and use of our Shared Data Platform for internal users, the broader vocational education sector, and our industries.  Currently this role will be required for one year as the platform is moving into its next phase of development to improve forecasting and data research capabilities.  This role is Wellington-based with the need to be able to regularly visit the IDI data lab. Flexible work arrangements can be made upon request, though we do have an office in Wellington and will require co-location for team building during initial employment. As the Senior IDI Analyst, you will be an experienced analyst and researcher within the IDI. You will have a strong background in data research, running and updating data queries, and showcasing and explaining data outputs to a variety of user levels.  You will thrive working in a stimulating and fast paced senior role where you can contribute to developing the capabilities of both the data platform and your colleagues. As a newer organisation, all the kaimahi at Muka Tangata need to be adaptable and bring a proactive, can-do attitude, and willingness to be a team member in a rapidly- evolving environment. An understanding of labour market economics and/or vocational education would be helpful for this role. We are a workplace that values and utilises diverse and inclusive thinking, people and behaviours. This means that we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and reflect the diversity of Aotearoa, New Zealand and the industries and people we work to support. We ensure that the contributions of staff with diverse backgrounds, experiences, skills and perspectives are valued and respected.  Te tono – How to apply   If this sounds like you, click on the  Apply now  button to be redirect to the application page - Position description is located the bottom of the page.
