We are looking for experienced Hydrologists to join our Christchurch-based Water Resources and Stormwater team. This role offers the opportunity to work on infrastructure design, drainage/stormwater design, water resource management and flood modelling throughout NZ, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. You will bring a sound technical knowledge of hydrological understanding and methods to the role, but also develop new technical skills in our well-established and supportive team. You'll collaborate with principals and Technical Directors and assist in the development of Junior team members. You'll be responsible for delivering top-quality outcomes within the usual time and financial restrictions of a busy consultancy, while also having the opportunity to develop our team members and apply your project management skills.
If this sounds like you, then these are the skills and experience we are looking for:
Honours degree or higher in a relevant field, such as Hydrology, Earth Science, Physical Geography, Natural Resources Engineering, or Water ResourcesMinimum of 7 years equivalent work experienceChartered, or working towards chartership, with and appropriate organisation, e.g., CIWEM, ICE, EngNZDemonstrable expertise in technical areas of hydrology, including water resources management.Ko wai koe | About you You are an intermediate or senior level civil engineer, with some technical experience in hydrology, hydraulics of pipe and open channel networks, catchment planning, water quality treatment, or flood risk assessment, as well as civil engineering design. You'll take accountability of your work with a track record of on-time and on-budget delivery.
You'll be a team player who enjoys working as part of a talented and diverse team. You'll also need to have the ability to build strong relationships with clients, based on understanding their needs as well as maintaining their trust and confidence in our performance, ultimately leading to continuing work and repeat business. We would also welcome project management or site experience.
Our multi-disciplinary team specialises across water, wastewater, and stormwater, as well as streams, rivers, and flood management. We collaborate with clients in local and central government, transportation, industrial, commercial, mining, and agricultural sectors in New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific and Southeast Asia. As our clients continue to call on our expertise, we're right there beside them and are looking for more great people to join our team.
