We are the government's principal adviser on transport policy, regulation and investment and play a crucial role in ensuring the transport system is working to improve the prosperity for New Zealanders. An exciting new role has been created to support the implementation of our new HRIS system (Chris 21). We expect to have Chris21 implemented by July 2024, and we need a person to support with the initial implementation, and then be our in-house organisational expert in following HR areas: Systems administration (approximately 40% of the job),Reporting (approximately 40% of the job), andOperational payroll (approximately 20% of the job).Key responsibilities include: Payroll/HRIS system support, advice and services for the organisation to ensure that all employees receive accurate and timely Payroll/HRIS services.System and/or process improvements and/or issues are consistently reviewed, identified, leading and managing the implementation and testing of any improvements and scheduled maintenance.End – end processing(GL1) (AC2) payroll,remit PAYE and other tax forms, KiwiSaver, ACC and similar reporting and return requirements. Ensure deductions are correctly calculated, authorised and paid tothe appropriate external agencies.Providing accurate and timely people information to assist managers and senior leadership in making business decisions.Providing analysis, management and reporting of quantitative and qualitative information primarily through Excel to leaders and staff.Te wahi ki a koe |What you'll bring Tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experienceStrong solid experience in the following areas:End to end payroll processing,Finding solutions to technical problems, and,Data extraction, manipulation, and presentation in high quality, user friendly written reportsDemonstrated experience in providing HRIS advice and support to managers, and an awareness of how their role contributes to an organisation achieving its outcomesSound interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide a high level of customer service and build and enhance successful relationships with clients and stakeholders.Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail and problem solving capability, including the ability to identify problems, manage or mitigate risks and implement innovative solutions.Experience to at least an intermediate level with Excel and Word.Previous experience with Chris21 would be an advantage.Te wahi ki a matou | What we offer In additional to our small and friendly office discreetly located on the wharf, we also offer a supportive and flexible work environment, individual development plans, Ministry leave days, laptop and mobile, a range of health and wellbeing benefits including wellbeing days and an annual Wellness payment, discounted insurances, EAP, a welcoming employee network + more.
