Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Senior Geologist
We have an exciting opportunity for aSenior Geotechnical EngineerorSenior Engineering Geologistto join our team inDunedin.
You will be an integral part of project delivery for GHD in the South Island and beyond. You will be supported by an established friendly and fun National Geotechnical Team with regional support largely from our Christchurch office. GHD’s Geotechnical Group work on a range of projects which include, but not limited to: infrastructure, new buildings, landfills, transport projects for road and rail, water, stopbanks and dams projects, land stability, rockfall assessments and future energy projects. The New Zealand geotechnical team also regularly support projects in Australia and the Pacific
The role
Taking the lead in the delivery of a range of geotechnical and geological engineering projects, from site investigations and technical design for standalone projects, to playing a key role in the delivery of iconic multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Working with our experienced Technical Directors and other Senior Engineers to develop your technical skills and business acumen
Bid pursuits and preparation of proposals for a variety of projects
Supporting the management and delivery of a variety of small to large sized projects in the South Island and Otago Region.
What you will bring to the team
Self-motivated but also a good team person, whether as part of the national geotech team or virtual teams brought together to deliver projects..
Proven experience in delivering geotechnical and geological investigation and design projects and good understanding of industry standards
Your experience of providing technical recommendations for bids as well as writing and crafting proposals for projects
Strong technical background including design and analysis using relevant software packages
Demonstrated communication skills and commercial acumen
Solid experience in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering is essential, ideally in a consulting environment, along with related tertiary qualifications in geology or geotechnical/civil engineering.
Relevant tertiary qualification Postgraduate qualifications will be favourably considered.
