The role's importance is guided towards the wider Taranaki community, with each commercial decision providing a tangible outcome for the local area and culture. The role 's objective is to provide on-going advice and expertise via long range forecasting, budgeting, data focused commentary, insights, and oversight of payroll for the wider organisation . You will be expected to do the following: Lead monthly and annual financial reporting Assist with forecasting and budgeting for the council Manage the treasury function and tax compliance / returns Assist in development of the FMIS system reporting capabilities and functionalities Collaborate with wider team during the end of financial year processes and audit Ko wai ta tatou e rapu ana - Who are we looking for? I'm on the lookout for anyone who has demonstrated experience in senior hybrid accounting with a focus towards technical financial reporting and management accounting. Ideally, you would have had exposure to either NZ public sector or corporate working environment s and y ou must have an appetite for analytics, storytelling and financial advisory. You will have a passion for building relationships and becomingthat highly desirable link between the finance team and other business units across the council. You will support your team and help them to develop as you all strive to succeed.
