We truly believe that when people achieve their financial goals, their whanau and communities flourish as a result.To help us with this, we are searching for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team, at our Head Office in Invercargill.The purpose of this full-time role is to ensure integrity of our external regulatory financial reporting through the preparation of accounts, returns and financial analysis whilst identifying opportunities to create efficiencies and enable our growth strategy.Main responsibilities of the role:preparation of all external regulatory financial reporting including preparation of consolidated Group Disclosure Statements and Annual Financial Reports and other reporting to the Group Audit and Risk Committee.preparation of all RBNZ regulatory reporting such as monthly Income Statement survey, Balance Sheet survey, Capital Adequacy return, and associated quarterly Satellite and Bank Financial Strength Dashboard reporting.contributes to all other SBS reporting obligations in respect to external parties, other regulators and agencies, rating agencies, securitisation trustees, banks (bank covenant reports), Companies Office, Securities Commission, Statistics NZ, Treasury, and Ministry of Economic Development.reviews and interprets current and proposed financial reporting regulations making recommendations to ensure compliance.maintains a detailed understanding of all SBS securitisation vehicles and securitisation processes including the review of all internal and external regulatory reporting requirements and compliance with Trust Deedsliaises with external auditors to ensure information is provided and answered in a timely manner.participates in information system, accounting and reporting projects and contributes to the development of policies, strategies, plans and recommendations.Your passion for always making things better will help you succeed in this role.What you'll bring:5+ years' experience, post-qualification, in financial accounting, preferably in the Banking or Financial sector.significant experience in maintaining and using accounting systems.substantial experience with advanced spread sheeting.strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.you enjoy the opportunity to work with new technologies and aspire to ongoing learning and helping others to develop too.ability to receive, interpret and apply new information quickly.excellent research and analytical skills.CA or CPA qualified.You will also gel with our Values: Own It, We're With You, Do What's Right, One TeamAbout Us:We're on an exhilarating growth journey, and we need exceptional individuals who are ready to embrace our ambitious goals.
