OSPRI implements effective biosecurity measures and provides integrated animal disease management services, expertise and systems that provide value to the primary sector.The organisation operates as a 'for purpose' company, owned by three shareholders: DairyNZ, Beef+Lamb and Deer Industry NZ. It is funded by levies along with Government investment through the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).OSPRI currently manages three major national programmes: TBfree (seeking eradication of bovine tuberculosis), M.bovis (Mycoplasma bovis disease management eradication programme) supported by NAIT (National Animal Identification and Tracing system).As an Epidemiology Senior Analyst, you will play a vital role in providing operational epidemiological expertise and support. Your primary focus will be ensuring the timely and effective delivery of the M. bovis programme through the oversight and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures. You will be responsible for providing options for disease control activities in situations where there is missing or uncertain information. In this cross-functional role, you will contribute to various tasks related to surveillance, risk assessment, and farm operational support. Your responsibilities will include managing and reporting on case incidents and supporting the interpretation of complex results. You will assist with the preparation of documentation, actively contribute to specific meetings, including Notice of Direction, process property requests, and review exceptions to specifications, including redrawing boundaries when necessary.Additionally, you will manage, and triage inquiries received through the inbox, provide advice on sampling requirements in collaboration with Surveillance Managers, and assist with legal document content and preparation. You will also help identify properties of interest in investigations, undertake ongoing development work, and support the Data Team with reporting requirements, including intelligence reports.The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with excellent communication abilities to convey complex information effectively. Experience in applied epidemiology, decision support for disease management programmes, and data analysis and interpretation are highly desirable.
