As we continue to grow, we invite you to join us.We are looking for an enthusiastic and solution-focused Senior Environmental Scientist with demonstrated capability in fostering client relationships and a strong track record of delivering on contaminated land projects. You will provide technical input and project management for a wide range of projects and further develop your skills and expertise in business development and in finding solutions to environmental issues. This is a great opportunity to advance your career while being mentored by some of Aotearoa's leading and most experienced Contaminated Land practitioners.Please note that we are open to applicants from both Tauranga and Hamilton.About the roleComplete Preliminary Site Investigations: sites commonly investigated include petroleum facilities, commercial/industrial/residential land, asbestos contaminated land, and landfills.Undertake Detailed Site Investigations including the preparation of health and safety documentation and obtaining environmental samples (e.g. of soil, water, sediment and asbestos).Analyse results, assess environmental data, develop conceptual site models, and write technical reports.Technical proficiency in field sampling, including managing complex projects.Manage projects including co-ordinating subcontractors, liaising with regulators and client contacts, and preparing cost estimates and be able to write technical reports and proposals.Business development by sourcing ongoing work from existing clients, developing new clients, and raising the your profile and the company's profile through networking activities.Contribute to the coaching and mentoring of junior staff.Business travel will be required (including overnight stays).What you'll bringDegree in Geology/Engineering Geology/Environmental Science.· Minimum 5 years' contaminated land experience (field experience is a must).Demonstrated capability in fostering client relationships.Familiarity with the Contaminated Land Guidelines and Regulatory Framework.Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organisational skills.Creative thinking to find innovative and sound solutions for our clients.A collegial, team-player with a 'can do' attitude.What we offerA comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, income protection, salary top up for parental leave and the ability to purchase extra annual leave.Flexible/hybrid working culture, facilitating a healthy work-life balance.Professional development opportunities, including support for ongoing training and education, and fully subsidised membership fees.The chance to work on meaningful environmental projects with leading Contaminated Land practitioners.A vibrant environment, committed to fostering a workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion.About UsPDP are one of Aotearoa's fastest-growing environmental science and engineering consultancies.
