Senior Development Engineer

In this role you will have the opportunity to be innovative to meet our increasing community wants and needs.Tasks and responsibilitiesUndertaking assessment of resource and building consentsEnsuring public infrastructure assets are designed and built in accordance with Council's engineering standards and policies before being vested in CouncilGuiding and mentoring staff while providing professional advice to applicants regarding engineering issues to achieve workable solutions.Skills and experienceYou will have a sound understanding of how development engineering fits into the processing of resource consents under the Resource Management Act, including knowledge of geotechnical and traffic engineering, as well as:Experience working in a local authorityRelevant tertiary Engineering qualification e.g. BE Civil, B.Technology, NZCE Civil or NZ Dip.Eng.Sound understanding of roads, water, wastewater and stormwater engineering requirementsExperience in supervising roading and drainage construction projectsWorking knowledge of NZS3910: Condition of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction.You will have a great work ethic and an ability to develop and maintain sound professional relationships. With a great sense of humour, you will thrive working in a small supportive team.The successful candidate will demonstrate, in their application letter, how they meet the key requirements of the role.The Coromandel is filled pristine beaches, great fishing spots, and friendly communities - and we are only 90 minutes from big cities - Auckland, Tauranga and Hamilton.
