We have an exciting permanent opportunity in our high performing and well-respected enterprise risk and assurance team as Senior Compliance and Integrity Advisor based in either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

This role will;
Provide expert oversight and guidance in the areas of compliance and integrity.Demonstrate significant specialist subject matter expertise to influence, embed and support best practice in compliance and integrity across NZTA | Waka Kotahi.Assist in developing a coordinated programme for lifting capability and oversight of risk and assurance management of compliance and integrity.Work enterprise wide across a complex and broad range of functions and areas.Contribute to implementation of the Risk and Assurance Strategy and plan to enable NZTA | Waka Kotahi to achieve its risk management and assurance objectives and lift the risk maturity across then Agency.It is an exciting time to join the Risk and Assurance team as we navigate through the impact of climate change, cost of living, the geopolitical landscape, the global marketplace, and people's expectations for a safer, more resilient, and more equitable society. The team is leading to lift the overall risk and assurance maturity and integrate and strengthen practices across NZTA | Waka Kotahi.

The Risk and Assurance team, work from NZTA | Waka Kotahi offices across New Zealand and this role brings opportunity to lead in an exciting flexible and hybrid working environment.

Our Senior Compliance and Integrity Advisor will conduct best practice integrity investigations, providing advice on conflicts of interest, drafting and reviewing policies and providing input on NZTA | Waka Kotahi's legislative compliance framework.

In addition to your subject matter expertise, and to be successful in this role, you will bring:

Knowledge and experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in investigations, including integrity, whistleblower and fraud investigations, in a complex organisation.Experience in a variety of legal and/or risk and assurance environments.Experience in legal processes and working under statutory frameworks, including the Protected Disclosures Act 2022 and Employment Relations obligations.You will excel in kotahitanga with strengths in collaboration, and ability to influence, coach and partner to work positively and inclusivelyProven capability to identify and establish effective integrity investigations practicesExcellent capability and understanding of conduct risk management tools and systemsAbility to think strategically and anticipate risks and issues before they ariseExperience of managing competing priorities in a demanding environmentProven ability to engage with and manage stakeholder relationships at a Senior and Executive levelStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to build, lead and leverage relationships across teams and disciplinesExceptional ability to facilitate, influence and persuade, including connecting the right people together to resolve complex issues.A growth mindset with an appetite to drive change and continuous improvementExcellent facilitation skills with the ability to translate complex information and uncomplicate risk.Knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.Ko wai matou | About us
