You'll be working with the Te Pou/Blueprint chief executive and her executive team to plan, develop, and implement results-proven communications solutions. You will be supported by, and part of, a wider inter-entity communications and design team but outposted at Te Pou.
You will take a strong leadership role in managing Te Pou and Blueprint's external reputation in a time of growth in the mental health, addiction and disability sector. You will work to ensure internal and external communications activities are strongly aligned to Te Pou and Blueprint's purpose, while building awareness of the organisation, its people, its work and its value to the sector.
Ideally, you will have worked in a large and complex organisation on multiple and significant communications projects. You will have significant digital experience, including social media, as well as direct experience working with mainstream news media. Your ability to cut through noise to ensure that Te Pou's communication is timely, simple, clear and well aligned to its purpose, will be crucial to your success.
This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (we do offer flexible work arrangements), based in our Auckland office, with regular travel to Hamilton and other offices when required.
Who we are?
Te Pou o te Whakaaro Nui (Te Pou) is a national mental health, addiction and disability workforce development centre. Blueprint for Learning (Blueprint) is jointly run with Te Pou. It offers national mental health and addiction training.
Together, Te Pou and Blueprint ensure people working with those who use mental health, addiction and disability services, have the right skills and are supported by evidence-based resources, tools and training.
Both Te Pou and Blueprint are currently experiencing strong demand for their products and expertise. It is a dynamic and fast-moving environment. The mental health and addiction sector is working to provide greater access to, and choice of, services in the wake of 'He Ara Oranga, the Report of the Government Inquiry into Mental Health and Addiction'. Significant funding has been allocated.
Te Pou and Blueprint are part of the Wise Group - which provides shared services such as communications, finance, technology and human resources to its members. This means this role will be an outposted part of the Wise Group's communications and design team based in Hamilton, reporting to the communications and design manager.
