Marketing Communications (Marketing & Communications)Local Government (Government & Defence)Responsible for the planning and delivery of a Maori communications plan for Nga MataraeSupport partnerships and engagement with mana whenua and mataawakaProvide senior level communications support and adviceOur Nga Matarae Insights & Strategy tima are looking for a Senior Communications Advisor to join them, providing senior level Maori communications support and advice.Your mahi will see you responsible for the planning and delivery of a communications plan and actioning of communications activities, ensuring the work of Nga Matarae and wider Maori outcomes across the council group is communicated effectively and efficiently with key internal, external stakeholders, mana whenua iwi and mataawaka.Day-to-day you can expect to:Develop and deliver internal and external communications plans, creating content that is written for the right audience, web, and social media friendlySupport partnerships and engagement with mana whenua and mataawakaWork collaboratively with key internal partners and the Independent Maori Statutory Board.For a copy of the position description please click hereWe are looking for people with strong experience in similar communications, marketing, or public relations mahi, and a relative tertiary degree.Ideally, you will have a good understanding and appreciation of the workings and function of local government and have an ability to work with and support elected members, senior staff, and executive members.You will need specific experience with:Leading, developing, and delivering communications plans and providing communications advice with a strong Maori lensUnderstanding and knowledge of engagement and communications tools, techniques, and channelsWorking in professional settings with te reo Maori me ona tikangaWorking with mana whenua and mataawaka.You will champion upholding the Treaty of Waitangi and promoting Maori outcomes, as well as collaborating well across the CCO family.Auckland Council is one of the largest local authorities in the South Pacific providing essential services and facilities to more than 1.5 million people.
