We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to come on board to work within a talented development tima (team) and be responsible for delivering high quality analysis, requirements and recommendations and to ensure that systems are designed and maintained to meet the needs of the Bank's nga kiritaki (customers), our internal partners and nga kiritaki and system / channel strategy and objectives. This is a full time, 12 month fixed term turanga (role). Here at BNZ we embrace flexible working, have a strong focus on career development and progression, as well 6 weeks annual leave!

What are some day to day tasks the person in this turanga will complete? Plan, estimate, coordinate and implement change according to agreed standards and using agreed business analysis processes, tools and artefacts. Provide interpretation of technical information to business unit and business information / requirements, non-functional requirements to technical teams to enable delivery of solutions. Connect across the functional stakeholders, including engagement at working groups etc. to tease out details, assist is scoping support functions, and supporting materials for nga kiritaki and internal service suppliers. Own requirements management including decisions on conflicting requirements and effective change control and clarification processes relating to requirements. Ensure there is complete understanding of project/initiative objectives and business requirements within the tima you are part of. What is the tima culture and environment like? The tima is very collaborative and take immense pride in working together to plan and deliver change that matters. We enjoy each other's company, offer and ask for help, and simply appreciate working together.
What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year? The main focus in this turanga will be our large scale transformation projects at BNZ, predominantly focusing on Consumer home lending.
What is your management style? Collaborative and Consultative - I like to encourage and provide support to allow individuals and teams to grow and gain experiences that will lead to fulfilling careers.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this turanga? A strong sense of curiosity, an analytical mindset, and an open and engaging personality will be essential. We are seeking a tima player, who is used to working with other BA's and stakeholders, but equally capable of working as sole BA on a deliverable. This turanga will suit those who are outcome focused and are a critical thinker.
What specific skills would be beneficial? Previous Business Analysis experience is essential due to the complexity of the work and experience working within banking or financial services would be a big advantage.
