Senior Building Support & Quality OfficerAbout the role The focus of this role is to oversee and ensure Waipa District Councils Building Support and Quality team provide efficient support to our busy Building Compliance team to facilitate the smooth running of the Building Compliance service delivery. Using your knowledge along with your high attention to detail, you will lead the day to day tasks of building consent vetting and lodgement using our online consenting system (AlphaOne), documents management within our property systems, territorial authority administration and customer enquiries.
This role also plays a key part in ensuring Waipa's Building Consent Authority accreditation is maintained through developing, implementing, monitoring and improving polices, procedures, audits and systems.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. The team is based across both offices and there is space in either for you. We also welcome hybrid working-from-home arrangements that ensure a great work-life balance for our people.
About you An essential part to this role is managing and maintaining the Waipa Building Consent Authorities quality management systems. You will be required to undertake auditing of the processes and procedures to the regulations, drive continuous improvement and lead the BCA's quality deliverables.
You will be an exceptional operational leader, who has the ability to motivate and inspire people towards positive change. Your leadership skills will allow you to explore alternative possibilities and really engage with the stakeholder.
You will be a customer-focused and collaborative individual who is highly personable and easily builds strong professional relationships across the Council and with clients and various other professionals and institutions. You'll have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey sound technical advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of quality management and building support matters in a concise manner that is understood by our wide range of customers.
