Details of the offer

Senior Associate (people/branch leadership opportunity) About the Firm Our client is a full-service Christchurch firm with both CDB and suburban presence across a wide range of local, national, and international clients, ranging from larger commercials through to SMEs and private clients. Their progressive approach to a healthy work-life balance is encapsulated by both their achievable budget and billable hour targets, and commitment to mental and physical well-being. With well-established Canterbury roots, they pride themselves on being a part of the community and providing support to a number of local organisations. Their staff engagement feedback is excellent, and they have been known to have brought through a number of top young solicitors and taking a very supportive approach to nurturing talent within the firm. About this role We are now actively seeking an Associate / Senior Associate for one of their Christchurch suburban branches. This is a broad role for an experienced General Practitioner, most notably covering residential property, private client and some commercial work including leasing, transactions and contract law. In addition, you will also act in a 2IC capacity to a regional leader, allowing you the opportunity to lead and mentor other branch members. Furthermore, you will be the face of the business to the local community, immersing yourself amongst businesses and key stakeholders within the immediate vicinity. As this business continues to grow from strength to strength, your leadership will allow you to seek staff growth opportunities within the branch and add to the firm's offering. This is a fantastic stepping-stone opportunity for the right person with eventual partnership aspirations, with a track of 1-2 years available for a Senior Associate who is ready to make the transition. Whilst this role will suit an ambitious candidate with a strong work-ethic, no one in the firm is interested in seeing you toil away for 70 hours per week. Skills and Experience 5+ years PQE General Practitioner background with a particular focus on conveyancing, light commercial & private Ideally the option to bring a practice with you although this is not essential as there will be a focus on developing business within the community Ideally a local candidate with strong Christchurch roots.
