In this permanent full-time role, you will be responsible for leading and being the subject matter expert for all Payroll functions and implementation of delivery for the Commission.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated senior payroll professional to lead the payroll functions of the Electoral Commission. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys all the aspects of payroll as you will get the opportunity to manage payroll related projects while also being responsible for high-quality payroll management, the implementation of pay runs as well as payroll administration, advisory and payroll reporting services.
As Senior Advisor Payroll, you will be coaching and mentoring on best practice payroll implementation, managing payroll related enquiries from managers and staff across the Commission and giving pro-active support by providing best practice advice on payroll policies and procedures. There will also be opportunities to get involved in ad hoc People and Culture work and projects as agreed. This is your chance to contribute to New Zealand's democracy as part of a committed, supportive, and hands-on organisation.
About you:
You will have solid payroll management experience with a collaborative team approach.
You will love having a plan but know that no day will be the same.
Experience as a payroll subject matter expert with a thorough understanding of payroll and employment related legislation.
You are not afraid of getting stuck in and being hands-on with some administrative work
You are comfortable working with managers at all levels.
You have experience which demonstrates application of sound judgement and problem solving.
You can develop pragmatic solutions with successful outcomes.
Your experience in Human Resources and Employment Relations and applying it into payroll compliments your ability to deliver high quality service.
You have a disciplined, systematic approach to work with an ability to prioritise.
