Reporting to the Senior Manager - External Affairs your focus will be on building Stats NZ's positive profile. We're looking for a generalist practitioner who can work across a broad spectrum of marketing and communications. You'll play a key role in identifying and managing communication and engagement risks and thrive on managing multiple priorities and often complex subject matter.

be a generalist marketing and communications professional with at least five-years' experience in a similar role be comfortable switching between big picture, creative thinking, tactical marketing and communications operations and reactive issues management be skilled at converting strategic, complex or technical information into clear, compelling material that's fit for purpose and audience be a plain language champion be able to demonstrate sound relationship building skills have a whatever it takes attitude and thrive in ambiguity have a good understanding of economic, social and governmental influences, the political environment and other agencies and groups likely to impact on our organisation.
