New Zealand Red Cross is looking for an experienced communicator to lead content and channel development and strengthen our stakeholder management. This role will shape how the Red Cross engages communities, volunteers and members with its iconic humanitarian brand. It will help drive a customer- and community-centric approach using data, insight and strategy.

About the role – Korero mo te turanga In this role you will:
Be part of a small, versatile and busy team providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership to a large and busy organisation.
Be the lead business partner for a number of portfolios.
Develop communications and engagement strategies and plans, content (written, video and image) for use across multiple channels as well as support and coordination for activities, conferences, and events.
Draw on your wide range of skills and experience with to help improve our channels and external communications.
Collaborate with and support colleagues to ensure the organisational needs are met and expertise shared and capability built.
To be successful you will have:
An expert understanding of how communications and engagement contributes to overall business performance outcomes.
Real strengths in people leadership and relationship and stakeholder management – a passion for developing meaningful connections while maintaining a clear focus on long term objectives.
Experience developing and implementing successful communications and engagement strategies and plans.
A record of professional achievement, with an ability to challenge thinking and represent and articulate ideas.
Experience using a wide range of online and social media tools, and ideally with some media, videography or photography skills.
Experience writing content for varying channels, media, web, social media and technical copy editing and proofreading.
A tertiary qualification in journalism, communications or other relevant field and/or at least 5-10 years experience working in a communications, engagement or media role.
