O te turanga - About the role The Senior Advisor is the lead team member position in the secretariat, reporting to the Manager, New Zealand Mining Board of Examiners and Operational Support ('the manager') within the Extractives team.
The Senior Advisor will bring their business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with their manager and other staff.
Ko tou ake mahi - What You'll Do: Provide support to, and advice on, the Secretariat's operations, including certificates of competence (CoC) (new and renewal applications), and continuing professional development (CPD)Assist the manager to develop and leadthe processes required to put into effect the Board's strategies and initiatives.Support the manager with the effective liaison and relations with the extractives industry by identifying issues relevant to the Board and developing strategies or proposals for the Board's consideration.Input to other areas of the Extractive Team (including Operational Support), from time to time, is expected.Experience working in an advisory role, ideally with experience in the provision of secretarial support to a governance group and familiarisation with authorisation processesAbility to think critically and analytically with an eye to detailExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, teamwork and relationship management skillsBe willing to carry out new tasks, learn on the job and explore new solutions with a "can do" attitudeThe ability to effectively manage or escalate issuesA high degree of self-motivationKnowledge of and experience in the use of Microsoft office applications and processes including databases would be usefulExperience in and or knowledge of the national qualification framework would be usefulWith your food basket and my food basket the people will thrive

Awhe utu - Salary range As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $92,848 to $122,424, and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $95,312 to $104,678. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
