Senior Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for an "all rounder" to work for a international organisation. North-West Christchurch,12 month fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, covering parental cover, assisting with the financial, accounting, and treasury functions. This role will enable you to use your prior experience and knowledge to handle key tasks. At the end of the parental leave the role will support the Financial Controller through the 2021/22 budget round, and support the project to upgrade their financial sytems.
Duties
Monthly Management Reporting and variance analysis for all entities and cost centres, reporting to budget holders
Process CAPEX Business Cases, attend to monthly CAPEX accounting and reporting
Preparation of Annual Financial for Annual Reports
Responses to annual Select Committee Questions
Attend to statutory and IRD taxation returns (including GST, PAYE)
Preparation of Annual Budgets, working in tandem with the Financial Controller
Support cash flow forecasting and reporting
Fulfil accountabilities as documented in the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
Skills and experience
CA/CPA Qualified
5 years experience in a similar position
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to make difficult decisions
