Transfreight seek to appoint a Senior Accountant to manage Transfreight's Finance and Administration functions within our multi branch operation.To be considered for this role, we are looking for an individual who can really own this function, taking responsibility from the day-to-day transaction management through to monthly accounts preparation and reporting. You will need to be a person with a logical mind with an ability to grasp new knowledge fairly quickly.This is a position that will involve dealing with many stakeholders within the company and working closely with MD to manage the finance function of the business. This position will report directly to the Managing Director.About the CompanyTransfreight turned 34 years this year and have been delivering a premium "same day service" to the Auckland Metro Market since 1989. Transfreight offers a same day, point to point services within Auckland as well as linehaul services to the BOP and the Waikato. Current branches in Auckland & Tauranga.Key Responsibilities of the role:Plan, organise, and execute the financial tasks of the organisation.Daily bank reconciliations, cash flow updates and cashflow managementAccounts Payable & Accounts Receivable management including weekly invoicing, payment processing, etc.Payroll management including weekly payroll processingPreparation of monthly management accounts and running weekly and monthly journals as requiredLiaise with suppliers/ sub-contractors, customers, external accountants and IRD as requiredPrepare & filing of periodical PAYE, GST & FBT returnsAdministration support and assistance with weekly invoicing and rating.Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets.Key Requirements:Experience in a similar position preferably in Transport industry would be idealDegree in Accounting preferable CPA.Experience operating in XERO including XERO PayrollStrong skills in MS Excel and knowledge operating in MS OfficeHave exceptional attention to detail and accuracyExcellent problem-solving ability with methodical approach and an analytical mindThe right candidate will be provided on-the-job training as required.
