Security Engineer/Architect

The Company We are lucky enough to be partnering with Network for Learning who are on the lookout for a talented Security Engineer/Architect. N4L exists to address digital inequity within the education system, so that every student in Aotearoa New Zealand has equal access to a safe digital environment to learn, regardless of where they live or go to school.
The Role
This is a very exciting role which will suit a Security Engineer/Architect who has a thorough understanding of complex systems and loves stay up to date with the latest security trends, solutions, standards and protocols, as well as industry best practices.
Security Engineer/Architect will be responsible for:
Planning, researching, designing and developing security architectures.
Analyse and Design security solutions for infrastructure and application projects in the organisation.
Provide sound advice to various stakeholders and ensure security is embedded into each project.
Implement and manage security systems, policies and processes to identify and manage security events across the N4L school network.
Implement security solutions end-to-end.
Prepare and write comprehensive project support documentation with supporting diagrams.
Understand complex business needs, requirements, and project scopes, with a focus on information security requirements and best practices.
Lead in detecting and analysing security incidents including attacks, breaches and identified vulnerabilities and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.
As subject matter expert on the team, maintain an understanding of current technology, and future trends through ongoing education, conference attendance and industry press.
Conduct research and select relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.
