The Role:
The Security Engineer is responsible for advising business and IT units in all facets of Information Security, so as to facilitate compliance with the organization’s information security policy, business requirements and risk position. You will have a strong process focus – being able to run a tight-ship and have a plan for everything.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure effective security of information systems and networks, including operational management of security technologies.
· Implement security and control techniques and technologies as per business requirements, and review periodically for ongoing validity.
· Develop, maintain, enforce and promote awareness of IT security policies, procedures and standards.
· Evaluate and make recommendations on IT security architecture, including new security products and implement into existing environments without interruption to services.
· Identify IT risks/vulnerabilities and suggest enhancements to existing security products.
· Support the continuous improvement of the Information Security Management.
· Identify security requirements for new applications and other software products.
· Investigate, respond to, and report on, security alerts and incidents as directed. Help develop our ongoing security monitoring.
· Support presale activities by answering customer due diligence security questions and providing responses that are aligned to major Information Security Frameworks plus highlighting the extensive controls we have put in place.
Experience Needed:
· Minimum 1 – 2 years in Information Security specifically
· 3+ years background experience in a Network Engineering role
· Relevant certifications / educational background would be beneficial
· Any experience w/ O365 and in the Cloud Technologies space a benefit
· Broad, knowledge of Information Security principles and practices associated with networks, internet, email, operating systems, firewalls, VPN's, databases, virus management, intrusion detection etc.
