Moreover, BTS Upper Hutt is responsible for process development of production processes and associated analysis for bacterial antigens as well as vaccine manufacturing (formulations) processes for new vaccines (R&D pipeline) and technology transfers. The BTS UPH team works closely cooperates with Manufacturing, Quality and R&D colleagues worldwide.The function of the BTS Scientist at BTS Upper Hutt falls within the Animal Health Science and Technology department which is part of the manufacturing division.What You Will DoResponsibilities include, however not limited to:Preparation, purification and analysis of biomaterials for method development.Planning and execution of technology transfer of testing methods.Planning and organizing work to meet testing schedules.Accurately record all test data / observations by:Documenting all tasks appropriately in accordance with Good Documentation Practice.Peer reviewing work of other team members on procedures in which they are trained.Maintain housekeeping standards by:Performing housekeeping tasks in accordance with SOPs and GLP.Completing regular assigned housekeeping inspections.Maintaining lab equipment in fully operational state of calibration / validation, including performing routine calibrations.Referring to, understanding and following applicable Global Quality Policies.Minimise Events / invalid test assays by:Ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with SOPs.Investigating and reporting on Events.Notifying supervisor of potential failures, recording faults and rectifying common faults independently.What You Must haveScience degree preferably in biological science such as microbiology, immunology, biochemistryCompetency in Mathematics and English (written and oral)Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or food preparation facility preferableUnderstanding of GMP/GLP and advantageComputer Skills: MS Office suiteWhat You Can ExpectWork autonomously whilst being supported, encouraged and being part of a trusted Global Leading Animal Health organisationExposure to upskill and develop in your roleFlexibility and opening doors to other opportunities and skillsetsJoining a collaborative team of likeminded individualsWe are proud to be a company that embraces the value of bringing diverse, talented, and committed people together.
