Long BayCollege is a co-educational secondary school located in a peaceful locationnear Long Bay Beach and the new Long Bay Village. The school opened in 1975 andhas approximately 1800 students with 150 teaching and support staff combined.
Weare seeking to employ a Registered Nurse in our Student Wellbeing Centre that offersstudents a holistic approach to health care, by providing a range of services,in partnership with the school and community.
Thisis a fixed term full-time position for Term 2, 2024 (29 April to 5 July), workingfrom 8:30am to 4:30pm.
SupportStaff in Schools' Collective Agreement June 2022 to December 2024.
Remuneration between $35.00 to $41.00 per hour.
Weseek an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about youth health andconnecting with our Rangatahi.
The position will include tasks such as:
Ensuring the Health Centreis a welcoming safe space for students Assessing all students andstaff who require medical treatment, making referrals where required Monitor and administermedication and health plans Promoting all availablehealth services, liaising as required Reviewing new studentshealth records to identify health needs Identify and refer any atrisk students Assist students to makeresponsible decisions regarding their own health Assist with medicalemergencies Maintain and update registerof all visits Provide updates to thePastoral Care team Working with the other members of ourWellbeing team to deliver holistic wellbeing services and support to ourstudents and staff Maintain accurate details within ourStudent Management System Stafffromour Wellbeing Team promote the health and well-being of all studentsat Long Bay College.
The successful applicant will have:
A current practicingcertificate Empathy, tolerance anddiplomacy The ability to remain calmand in control A proven history of workingwith young people The ability to work bothindependently and as a team Strong communication andinterpersonal skills – verbal and written The ability to maintainconfidentiality per College policies, procedures & MoE guidelines You must be eligible to work in New Zealand to applyfor this position. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory police vet.
