Following a recent review of organisational requirements we are looking for candidates to be part of our team in the following roles:
Revenue Accounting Lead
The Revenue Accounting Lead will ensure Council’s financial statements meet regulatory and compliance obligations under Reporting Standards and legislation including the Local Government Act. This involves responsibility for core accounting processes relating to monthly reporting and compliance, annual report preparation and delivery with a Revenue focus. This role requires a strong working relationship with the Accounting Lead and the Financial Reporting Accountant who supply RLC accounting and reporting services.
Financial Reporting Accountant
This position will provide technical accounting leadership and support to RLC’s Financial Reporting through the production and review of statutory accounts and regulatory reporting.
With a strong internal control focus, the role will interact with the core Accounting team and Business Performance team, supporting them as required to ensure RLC Financial Governance processes are in accordance with good practice, are compliant with Financial Reporting and Local Government Act requirements, ensuring the integrity of financial systems/models are maintained and to facilitate the delivery of timely information.
A key part of this role is the ability to research and interpret Local Government Act and GAAP reporting requirements, maintain RLC Accounting policies and upskill the Finance & Business Performance team on the impact of changes. A Financial Governance Quality Assurance programme will also be implemented.
