Environment & Sustainability Consulting (Consulting & Strategy) (Success is not mine alone but derived from the strength of many) Resource Management Planner Tamatea Pokai Whenua (formally known as Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust) is the Post Settlement Government Entity representing 23 marae and 43 hapu within the Heretaunga, Tamatea rohe (region). The Trust was established to receive and administer the redress of the historical Treaty grievances of Heretaunga, Tamatea against the Crown. About the role We seek a motivated and organised individual wanting to be part of Te Matai Ao, a newly established subsidiary of Tamatea Pokai Whenua. It is advantageous to have knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and experience in the resource management consent process. This champion must be able to utilise their analytical and logistical talent to support the General Manager Te Matai Ao for the benefit of Tamatea Pokai Whenua. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow the organisation's responsiveness within Taiao, working closely with hapu and marae of Heretaunga Tamatea to solidify tino rangatiratanga within the rohe (region). We are ideally looking for someone who has; Knowledge of the economic, social and cultural issues facing Maori and Heretaunga Tamatea Maori. The ability to lead projects and develop strong relationship across a wide range of stakeholders. A Bachelor's or tertiary qualification and experience in Environmental Planning/Management or a related field such as Public Policy or a similar discipline The ability to interact effectively with Te Ao Maori and mainstream community.
