Research and Justice Stream Lead, and Director of the Social Policy and Parliamentary Unit Research and Justice Stream Lead, and Director of the Social Policy and Parliamentary UnitThe purpose of the Research and Justice Stream is to increase The Salvation Army's Mission Impact for the whanau that seek our support, as a result of TSA being a learning and evidence-based organisation in our various mission expressions and;To focus on social justice advocacy and social policy research to seek to eliminate poverty for the whanau within Aotearoa/New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa including those who access our social support.What will your responsibilities be:Leading a team in clarifying, articulating, and outworking the strategic objectives of the Research and Justice StreamRaise awareness of external national social justice issues - engaging with political, governmental, and other community and business leaders of influenceCoordinates any practical responses of the Territory to social policy issues in New Zealand.The development of a research and evaluation team that works to monitor, evaluate, and research (MER) work within TSA that contributes to the mission and goals of the Army.MER and Social justice issues have engagement with stakeholders and reach the appropriate audiences in an appropriate way - internal and external TSA audiences.Team leadership of all staff with the streamCreates climate of sustainable financial and resource management across the RJM StreamOur ideal candidate will:High levels of achievement in a tertiary setting with a focus towards political science, research & evaluation and/or comparable experience in related social fields.Experience, knowledge, or training from a Christian theological perspective would be important/helpful.Ability to evidence and produce work focused on humanities, political science, and theological reflection both verbally and in written form.Awareness of, and experience with, monitoring, evaluation, and research that successfully improves the wellbeing of the whanau that access Salvation Army mission centres.An understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it might shape the social policy and social service areas.- Ability to engage in robust and respectful debate.Our offer to you:2 x Salvation Army additional leave days and long service leaveDiscounted Medical Insurance with Southern CrossTSA discount card for discount with various retailors such as Beaurepairs, Noel Leeming, Placemakers and Torpedo7Free confidential counselling services to support your wellbeingSubsidised flu vaccinationsCandidates should be adaptable, energetic, self-motivated and committed to our mission of 'caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society'.Hour of work: Permanent/full time of 37.5 per week.The starting salary for this role is likely to fall between $182,000 and $211,008 depending on the preferred candidates skills and experience.TSA is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
