BMC Lawyers is a community-focused and full-service law firm with offices in Kapiti, Porirua, and Levin. The Opportunity A fantastic opportunity has now come available for a Relationship Property Solicitor with at least five to six years of PQE who is looking to progress their career in a very busy practice. The role will allow you to work alongside the Managing Principal, Nikki Coulston, who enjoyed a hugely successful business career before transitioning her commercial nous across to the legal sphere. There is also scope to take over this practice as Nikki focuses her attention on running the firm. Furthermore, there will be an opportunity to mentor and assist two junior staff members. You will be tasked with managing and providing legal advice relating to the division of property when a relationship ends. You will also be responsible for drafting and advising on prenuptial agreements, asset planning, and protection; ensuring your clients have clear and concise guidance in what can be an emotional and difficult time. Litigation experience will also be of huge value in this role. About You We are seeking someone with ambition, who is wanting a growth opportunity and recognizes the potential this role can offer. While you may come from a general law background, you will have experience with relationship property and family law. Alternatively, you may already be a Relationship Property expert seeking to further your skills working closely alongside a highly decorated mentor. You will enjoy having autonomy and responsibility for your work, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to demonstrate the personality to work in a cohesive team and to build strong relationships with the community, your colleagues, and clients.
