Primary purpose of the position: Description:
The REHAB PHYSIOTHERAPIST role provides clinical support to the Physiotherapy team and to the broader Allied Health team across a breadth of clinical areas including:
 
- Rehab Unit
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Surgical ward
- Medical ward
- Maternity ward and special care nursery
- Emergency Department

Whilst primarily based in the inpatient context, the Clinician may also be required to support community and outpatient programs.

Major public healthcare provider within the Bass Coast Shire in South Gippsland. The service has provided quality service and care for residents of the Bass Coast Shire for over 100 years. It is an integrated Health Service providing Emergency services as well as Acute Medical and Surgical, Sub-acute and Residential inpatient beds along with an extensive array of Community and Primary care services. Services are provided also from a number of other sites including Wonthaggi, San Remo and Cowes.

The Grade 3 Senior Clinician Rehabilitation Physiotherapist is a clinical expert in rehabilitation, demonstrating high levels of specialist knowledge and superior consolidated skills. They are responsible for provision, co-ordination and development of Physiotherapy Rehabilitation services across multiple clinical areas and sites. They have currency of professional expertise and skills, and have experience acting on expert advisory committees.

The Grade 3 Senior Clinician Rehabilitation Physiotherapist may be required to deputise for the Physiotherapy Team Leader. They understand wider organisational and public health influences on the acute and sub-acute public hospital service.

Key Result Areas: MANDATORY REGISTRATION, LICENSE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master of Physiotherapy or recognized equivalent
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Current member, or eligible for membership, of Australian Physiotherapy Council
• A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date
• Provision of valid Working with Children Check
• Provision of an NDIS Worker Screening Check
• COVID-19 Vaccination and seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health directions

DESIRABLE:
• Appropriate post-graduate qualifications in relevant field
• Research skills comparable to Masters level
• Minimum of 7 years clinical and leadership experience
