Registrar in General Surgery - Non SET TrainingJob DescriptionRole RequirementsRemuneration Available in June 2024, a full time registrar position offering excellent experience in acute and elective general surgery and acute management of acute management of Plastic Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Neurosurgery, ICU, Trauma and ENT patients with support from a regional tertiary centre. This post is based in a district general hospital providing secondary level care with 24/7 emergency department, general medical and surgical services. 6-12 month contract and excellent support from senior colleagues.

Responsibilities of this role You will be allocated to a specific run and work a basic 40 hour week. Working hours are from 0800 – 1600 from Monday to Friday inclusive (40 hours per week), plus an additional 8 hours per week will be paid for administrative duties.You will participate in the on call rota covering nights and weekends, supported by an on-call ConsultantYou will provide inpatient, outpatient clinic services for patients as directed by the Consultant involved.You will perform regular reviews of patients in the wards and emergency department.You will attend operating theatre sessions and perform procedures as delegated by the consultant.You will ensure that letters to GPs and other health providers are accurate, contain a provisional diagnosis, formulation and management plan.You will attend multidisciplinary meetings and clinical review meetings. This will include presenting cases for discussion. Role Requirements
To be successful in your application for this opportunity as the Registrar in General Surgery, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
A basic medical qualification recognised by the Medical Council of New ZealandHold or be eligible for General Registration with Medical Council of NZA minimum of 2-3 years experience postgraduationPrevious experience in general surgery is desirableOrganizational and time management skills.Ability to work under pressure Remuneration and Benefits
