REGISTERED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST, CHILD DEVELOPMENT SERVICE – FIXED TERM CONTRACT
Clinical and Project work
Are you interested in working with children with disabilities and their whanau in a community based whanau centred service, using an equitable and transdisciplinary model of practice?
The role of the Psychologist within our team will be to carry out appropriate psychometric assessments, gather data to support these assessments plus follow up support and counselling as required. Additional tasks will include identifying and implementing additional psychological services for children referred and collection of data on outcomes of enhanced services as well as gathering data regarding whanau engagement involved in the service.
Applicants must have;
PG DIP Psych Clin or equivalent
Registration as a Psychologist with the psychologist board
Experience in clinical psychological assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of children with disabilities within a transdisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment including children with autism and FASD.
Have understanding of and demonstrate commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, Tikanga and cultural safety in healthcare delivery
Computer literate
Demonstrate sound written and oral communication skills
Sound knowledge of typical and atypical development
A ‘whatever it takes’ approach
Project experience desirable
Current, clean, and full drivers licence
