:We are seeking Registered Mental Health Nurses for ourforensic inpatient services at Te Korowai Whariki part of the Mental Health Addictions& Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS).Present vacancies are for Rangipapa (mixedgender unit).
Themain function of Purehurehu and Rangipapa is to provide a safe and secureenvironment for people who have been admitted into hospital for assessmentand/or treatment through the criminal justice system. Clients are eitherreferred from the courts as part of thejudicial process, or they are admitted from prison for psychiatric care andtreatment.

The units have dedicatedClinical Nurse Specialists and Coordinators to support their nursing staff andthere is a comprehensive orientation programme.

Skills & Experience:Be a highly motivated nurse, whodisplays a positive attitude and enthusiasm for this area of work
Provide quality care and services to ourpatients, friends and whanau in collaboration with the MDT
Understand risk assessment and have theability to think on your feet when identifying and managing risk
Have a positive solution focusedapproach with the ability to use your initiative
Have knowledgeof rehabilitation and recovery models and social inclusion
Provide nursing care in accordance withthe NCNZ scope of practice (Registered Nurse) and the CCDHB ProfessionalDevelopment and Recognition Plan
Qualifications:
Be registeredwith the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse or Registered PsychiatricNurse
Mental health nursing scope of practice
Hold acurrent practicing certificate
New Zealand Driver License desirable but not essential
Having postregistration education/learning experiences in mental health nursing (advantageous)
