We are the largest Renal Service in New Zealand and steadily growing, this is a specialist area that nurses are getting more interested in. At Counties Manukau DHB, you can join this comprehensive service which has so much of variety to offer as it covers: acute renal ward, predialysis, peritoneal dialysis, facility and home haemodialysis, outpatients
The Acute Renal Ward caters to patients with renal impairment and renal failure. Although many of our renal patients also have medical conditions consequently the ward also has a secondary medical focus taking overflow medicine patients as necessary. This is the first Renal Ward in New Zealand. The Ward undertakes interventions/procedures in a specially designed procedure room on the ward, thus offering Nephrology RNs exposure to develop both diagnostic and intervention skills.
We have a comprehensive education and orientation programme and the option of rotating within the various areas in the renal service. We have a high performing multi-disciplinary team that work closely together and provide comprehensive educational support using clinical coaches. Essential Requirements
New Zealand Registered Nurse
Current Annual Practicing Certificate
Minimum 1 years Renal or Medical experience
