Details of the offer

What we do

Our Emergency Department is one of the busiest ED’s in Australasia. Now based in the new Waipapa building we have recently moved into a new purpose built ED, New Zealand's newest Emergency Department!
We are a 58 bed department, geographically divided into functional areas, and see an average of 103,000 presentations per year.
We are now able to expand our nursing team and have new Registered Nurse positions available. These roles will become part of our larger nursing team, which includes Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nurse Practitioners.
The Role:Where you fit it
This is a great career opportunity for experienced nurses who are solution focused with excellent time management skills and have the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks.
Within the department we have a number of nurse led and initiated treatments, therefore you will be a confident practitioner with exceptional patient assessment skills.
We have a range of professional development opportunities available to our nursing staff and support the local, national and international Foundation in Emergency Nursing, Triage Burns courses and TNCC and ENPC programmes.
Recent emergency experience is preferred, however candidates who have medical and/or surgical experience will also be considered.
Our Culture:What matters to us
Ko Te Whatu Manawa Tangata
Putting people at the heart of all we do
Health is ultimately all about people. What’s important around here is the way we care for and respect others, the responsibility taken for delivering outcomes, and going about our work with integrity.
Belonging Here:Becoming part of our story
Being part of the Canterbury District Health Board, you will enjoy a fantastic benefits scheme, the opportunity for flexible working arrangements and ongoing focus on your career development.
The Canterbury DHB believes that diversity and inclusion is key to ensure we deliver the best care for our diverse population. The Canterbury DHB is an inclusive and equal opportunity employer that welcomes and respects everyone.
