We are looking for an experienced, quick thinking, and dynamic registered nurse to join the Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU) team at Palmerston North Hospital.
This is a 0.8FTE position working rostered, rotating shifts.
MAPU is a dedicated area which accepts acute medical patients from the Emergency Department. With an average length of stay of around 24-48 hours our unit does not resemble the usual medical ward. The emphasis is on rapid patient assessment and treatment with the aim of either an early discharge, or a clear plan of care on admission.
Applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
One year experience as a New Zealand registered nurse or Nursing Council equivalent registered nurse in an acute secondary care facility. The ideal applicant/s will have medical or Emergency Department experience.
Or
Three year's post registration experience in an equivalent secondary care facility outside New Zealand AND completion of the CAP training.
