About the role
Our client provides leading palliative care services to patients and whanau to promote wellness and encourage a high quality of life for those living with life limiting illnesses. As an integral part of the local community this service offers support to palliative patients in a beautiful setting across the community and within an IPU. They are a dynamic team who are constantly striving to improve how they operate and everyone who works there plays a crucial part.
What you have to do
You will be responsible for delivering exceptional support and services to patients and whanau in a inpatient unit setting. Provide holistic assessments and care planning programs. As part of a team collaborate in partnership with the patient and whanau to provide wrap-around care and ensure patients are able to live their last years of life to the highest of standards.
Be open to working a range of shifts across Ams/PMs and nights. Weekend work split between the team
Options of 0.6FTE or 0.8FTE
Symptom and pain management
Respite and end of life care
Deliver high quality care to your patients
Skills & Experience A current New Zealand Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse
Experience in completing full, comprehensive assessments
Palliative , oncology or haematology experience is ideal
Be experienced in wound care, medication and pain management
Exceptional communication skills that allow you to effectively liaise with other health professionals and multi-disciplinary teams
