Midwifery - New Graduate Programme

Counties Manukau Health (CM Health) Midwifery New Graduate Programme offers you the opportunity to establish and grow your midwifery career in a professional and culturally diverse team and community.
The Counties Manukau District has an ethnically diverse population: 39% NZ European/Other, 24% Asian Other, 21% Pacific Island and 16% Maaori. This makes us one of the most diverse health care providers in Australasia. Our service is unique with over 7200 births per year and has a strong midwifery focus.
Our Midwifery New Graduate programme is designed to consolidate your newly acquired midwifery skills under the guidance of our experienced team of midwives. We have intakes inJanuary, April, and August.
Our fifteen month programme involves three structured placements providing practice experience across the scope of midwifery practice. Five months each in: Birthing & Assessment (B & A), Maternity Ward (antenatal and postnatal high risk), and either in one of the three Primary Birthing Units or with the Community Midwives (antenatal and postnatal care), and an additional four education days specifically facilitated for your group.
On-going guidance from dedicated senior midwives, our team of midwife educators and CM Health / AUT Midwifery Development and Education Service (MDES) ensures a supportive environment, facilitating your transition to a confident practitioner.

• A copy of your Academic Record to date (grades from three or four years)
• Two Referees: telephone and email contact details.Eitherone being the LMC of your last continuity placement and the other from your tertiary institute or school of midwiferyorone being the LMC of your last continuity placement and the other from a previous employer or DHB midwife familiar with your practice.
Essential criteria:• NZ Completed Undergraduate Degree in Midwifery
• New Zealand Permanent Resident or Citizen
