About the role As a Recreation Officer, you will plan and facilitate individual recreation plans for residents, as well as the recreation programme for Huntleigh Home. This involves running daily activities with staff and volunteers, planning the social calendar for the home and supporting our residents to pursue their interests. You will encourage residents to maintain their independence, learn new skills and maintain connections with their community.Hours: 11:00am to 5:30pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Huntleigh Home in Karori. Friday and Saturday are essential however a different day may be negotiated in place of the Thursday for the right applicant.About You Passionate about the wellbeing of older people, you are enthusiastic but patient; well-organised with great interpersonal skills and sense of humour. You share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. We are looking for: A genuine interest in supporting the Recreational activities in our Home Minimum of Careerforce Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate A qualification in Diversional Therapy would be great but we will consider someone with equivalent experience Experience in a customer-facing role, ability to listen to people and work with them to support their needs Experience in administration with some computer literacy Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence Some experience working with elders would be advantageous What's in it for me?Enliven offers a compassionate environment where upskilling and training are highly valued.
