Recreation Assistant Date: 12 Jul 2023 Location:South Auckland, NZ, 1010 Company: Auckland Council He angitutanga: The opportunity  You will help us deliver an exciting range of OSCAR school care and holiday programmes.  This role will see you working with school students and community groups across the Auckland region. In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include the following:  delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and visitors supporting with the delivery of a variety of exciting programmes for children aged 5-12,  helping the centre maintain?a caring, fun, and safe fitness and leisure environment, helping centre management with administration and operational duties. supporting centre activities including sporting leagues and daily timetabled programmes. ? This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, with rosters that will include early mornings, late evenings, public holidays and weekends.   The proposed shifts are Monday to Friday 2pm – 6pm, but it is subject to change according to the roster and the need of the centre. He korero mou: About you   You will already be passionate about sports and recreation and be ready to step into a frontline customer service role.  You will also be:  responsible when it comes to working with children. (While previous experience working with children is beneficial, it is not essential) have a flexible approach and be able to use your initiative to facilitate suitable programmes for kids.  be an enthusiastic team player have a positive attitude and infectious energy be committed to providing your customers with an exceptional experience.? understand health and safety you will be committed to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in your work  In addition:  Although not necessary, it would be beneficial to have a passion for a sport, previous coaching and/or reffing experience as you may be asked to utilise these skills. A full New Zealand driver's licence is mandatory to be successful as it may be needed within your day-to-day duties.  You will need a First Aid Certificate; however, we will help you attain this if you do not have one already.  Nga ahuatanga kei a matou: What we offer.
