These practices serve the largest Pacific and South Asian populations enrolled in general practice and the largest Maori population in Tamaki Makaurau.  Ready Steady Quit (RSQ) is a Ministry of Health funded smoking cessation service for tangata (people) within the Te Whatu Ora Auckland & Waitemata districts. We are passionate about helping whanau to become smokefree and our RSQ Kaiarahi - Team Leader plays a crucial role in our mission. The Opportunity As our RSQ Kaiarahi - Team Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day RSQ operations and strategic direction, ensuring the Kaimahi (Team) are well supported. You'll oversee and help ensure our contractual obligations are fulfilled through reporting and analysis, and collaboration with our internal and external partners. From time to time, you'll also put on your Practitioner's hat and support the Kaimahi on the ground, connecting with enrolled whanau.  Working within our wider Whanau Services team, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside and collaborate with colleagues who also work in whanau focused services. Drawing on your connections, you'll proactively help refine our service delivery and overall outcomes for our whanau. This is a great opportunity to lead a team and provide meaningful support, connection, and care to those engaged in Ready Steady Quit. These have underpinned the mahi ProCare has delivered with iwi, hapu, local communities, health providers and patients. We are committed to enable self-determination and mana motuhake in the design, delivery and monitoring of health services in order to achieve not only Maori health gain and equitable health outcomes but also to increase the health benefits for Pasifika and high needs communities. We would love to hear from you if you have: A minimum of 3 years' experience working in Health Care directly with patients, and with community groups and organisations Demonstrable background leading a team, and a track record in driving high performance, preferably within health or related context A desire to understand and appreciate Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to ProCare and how it shapes our efforts A passion for playing a part in improving population and whanau health across Tamaki Makaurau It would be an advantage if you have: Enrolled in or completed the Stop Smoking Practitioners Training Programme Training or experience in Motivational Interviewing, Behavioural change approaches, Smoking Cessation and/ or Alcohol Brief Intervention Support Qualification in Health, wellbeing or similar The ability to speak basic Te Reo Maori and/or a Pacific language Pre-requisites: As this role works directly with people in the community, applicants must: Be a non-smoker Have no prior criminal convictions Hold a clean, Full NZ driver's license  The Ready Steady Quit Service values the lived experience of former smokers and welcomes applications from those who have quit smoking and are current non-smokers.
