Our environment and our people go hand-in-hand.As a Rates Advisor specialising in database maintenance and queries, you will provide a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our rates system. Your primary focus will be on maintaining our rates database, managing banking transactions, and addressing rating inquiries. Your work will be instrumental in enabling us to deliver a quality service to our ratepayers.

This a permanent, full-time role located in any one of our three offices across the region.
Te ahuatunga a te turanga | About the role Reporting to the Rates Manager, you will be responsible for managing our rates database, processing payment, and providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, you will demonstrate your adaptability and collaboration skills by handling various tasks and working with colleagues to share knowledge and adjust to changing priorities. Every day will bring you new and engaging challenges.
In this role, you will:
Regularly update and maintain the rates database, ensuring accurate records.Process payments, reconcile accounts, and manage financial transactions.Assist ratepayers with inquiries related to rates, payment arrangements, and assessments.Work closely with colleagues to provide exceptional service and support.O pumanawa | Your skills and experience NCEA level 3 or equivalent - Regulatory Compliance or business administration, finance/accounting equivalent and/or equivalent body of knowledge gained through experience.Minimum of three years' relevant work experience (experience in local government would be preferable)Excellent communication skills to interact with ratepayers effectively (both written and oral).Proficiency in maintaining and updating rates databases.Familiarity with processing payments, reconciling accounts, and managing financial transactions related to rates.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.Flexibility to handle changing priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously.
