About Us Smart Solution Homes specialise in prefabricated modular housing that are built in our Auckland-based factory. About The Role We are committed to growth and therefore we have created a new opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take on the significant role of managing our modular housing developments. In this role you will work alongside a team of qualified builders and report into our Managing Director. Key responsibilities include:Assisting in establishing client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies ensuring the success of proposalsPreparing and analysing project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, and timePreparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the clientNegotiating contracts and work schedules and allocating work to subcontractors overseeing their work at all stages of the constructionPerforming risk, value management, and cost control during construction and undertaking cost analysis for variationsAnalysing outcomes and providing detailed progress reportsMaintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use and providing advice on contractual claims and disputesHaving a strong understanding of the implications of health and safety regulationsAbout YouAs an experienced Quantity Surveyor, you will bring proven experience and qualifications in either QS or Contract Management. A background in construction management or the building industry will also be favourable. This role will suit someone who is methodical, exacting, organised, and who is dedicated to consistently providing excellent levels of service. We have a high trust working environment and are seeking someone who will fit into our team of hard working and dedicated individuals. You will have strong business acumen, enjoy solving problems, and be motivated by achieving company goals and setting high quality standards. Requirements include:Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or similar positionHold a relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent practical experienceCompetent user of Excel and reporting is essentialKnowledge and competence of contracts, estimates, tenders, and costsKnowledge of Buildertrend would be advantageousExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProfessional manner with the ability to be self-motivated and work autonomouslyAn attractive salary package is on offer, including a generous base salary, KiwiSaver, vehicle, phone, and laptop.
